When Yield Stops Moving

Concrete’s USDT vault is currently showing remarkably similar 1-day, 7-day and 30-day APYs. This edition investigates what that consistency means — and what it does not mean.

01 / APY Window Comparison

Three windows, side by side

Concrete USDT’s 1D, 7D and 30D APY on one axis starting at zero. Differences are shown in percentage points (pp). A move from 8.00% to 8.20% is +0.20 pp; calling it a “2.5% increase” would overstate it.

02 / Why Three APYs?

Each window answers a different question

An APY window annualizes yield that has already been observed over a period. It describes the past. It does not guarantee a forward return.

1D

Highly sensitive

Reflects the most recent day. It reacts quickly to utilization shifts, funding-rate moves, rebalancing and one-off events, so it is the noisiest of the three.
7D

Smoother short term

Averages about a week of observations. Single-day spikes carry less weight, but it still responds to changes within the same month.
30D

Broader recent performance

Covers about a month of observations. It is slow to react, so it can lag a real change in underlying conditions.

Measurement, not a promise

1D, 7D and 30D APY are backward-looking, annualized measurements of historical yield behavior. None of them is a quote, a target or a guaranteed forward return. Future yield depends on market conditions that have not happened yet.

03 / Market Comparison

USDT strategies across DeFi

Comparable USDT pools indexed by DeFiLlama Yields, with all three windows computed the same way from each pool’s daily history. Rows are in alphabetical order after Concrete. This is not a ranking. Pools without enough history show “Insufficient history”; no values are estimated.

04 / APY Dispersion · Measurement Consistency

How far apart are the windows?

APY Dispersion = max(1D, 7D, 30D) − min(1D, 7D, 30D), in percentage points. It measures how consistent the recent measurements are with each other. It is not a risk score, and low dispersion is not a safety signal.

What the label means

Low dispersion: recent windows agree closely. Moderate: some drift between short and long windows. High: recent yield differs meaningfully from the monthly picture. None of these labels says anything about the safety of principal.

05 / Stable Yield ≠ Safe Yield

A flat line can hide real risk

A stable APY describes how the return has behaved. It does not describe what could happen to the principal. Every risk below can coexist with a perfectly steady APY series.

Smart-contract risk

Bugs or exploits in the vault, the strategies or the underlying protocols do not appear in a yield chart until they happen.

Liquidity risk

Exiting at size can depend on market depth and on the liquidity of the underlying venues.

Strategy risk

Allocation decisions, hedging and rebalancing can fail or behave differently under stress.

Counterparty risk

Exposure to venues, custodians, curators or other operators the strategy relies on.

Asset / peg risk

USDT is a stablecoin. Its peg and its issuer are separate risks from the vault’s yield.

Withdrawal constraints

Queues, lockups or delays can apply. Week 7 recorded a 21-day withdrawal queue on the Concrete WBTC vault, and terms vary by vault.

Changing market conditions

Borrow demand, funding rates and incentives change, and past consistency does not carry forward automatically.

Measurement risk

Averaging windows smooth data by design. A smoothed series can look calmer than the underlying positions.

This dashboard does not rate safety.

Nothing on this page, including “Measurement Consistency,” the dispersion bands or the market table, is a safety rating, a risk score or a recommendation. Read APY stability as a description of past yield measurements only.

06 / TVL + APY

Scale and observed yield

Each bubble is one pool from the comparison table. The x-axis is TVL on a log scale, the y-axis is 30D APY and bubble area is proportional to TVL. Color shows the pool category. Concrete USDT has a yellow ring. The chart shows the relationship between scale and observed yield; it does not rank protocols.

07 / Yield Consistency Timeline

Concrete USDT, trailing 30 days

Daily observations for the Concrete USDT pool, ending at the latest available observation and capped at the end of this edition’s reporting week (September 30, 2026, 23:59 UTC). Toggle between APY and TVL; each has its own view and there is no dual axis.

08 / Key Finding

The interesting number isn’t the APY. It’s the gap between the APYs.

When the 1D, 7D and 30D measurements converge, recent observed yield has been relatively consistent across those windows. Day-to-day noise, the past week and the past month all describe roughly the same rate.

Live reading: awaiting data.

That is a statement about the past. It says nothing about smart-contract, liquidity, strategy, counterparty or peg risk, and it does not tell you what next month’s yield will be.

Consistency is descriptive, not predictive.

  • Live, not hardcoded. Values are retrieved in your browser from DeFiLlama’s public Yields API every time the page loads. “Data as of” is the timestamp of the latest daily observation, and “Retrieved” is when your browser fetched it (both UTC).
  • Reporting week in progress. The edition covers September 24–30, 2026. Observations after September 30, 2026, 23:59 UTC are excluded, and no data is shown for days that have not yet been observed.
  • No mixed labels. Every figure is labeled 1D, 7D or 30D. This edition does not show spot or “current” APY. The 7D and 30D values here are DeFiLlama-derived means and can differ from the 7D or 30D APY shown in the Concrete app, which uses Concrete’s own methodology.
  • Pool selection. USDT-denominated pools (symbol exactly “USDT”) from the listed protocols with at least $1M TVL. For each protocol, the largest pools by TVL at retrieval time are included, up to 15 rows. Selection by TVL is an inclusion rule, not a ranking.
  • Failure handling. If the source is unreachable or a pool lacks history, the page shows “Not available” or “Insufficient history” instead of estimating.
  • Cross-reference. Week 7 recorded Concrete USDT at 8.32% current APY, 8.20% 7D APY and $29.8M TVL on Concrete Earn, as of September 22, 2026. That is a different source and a different measurement type, kept here as historical context only.
  • Research context only. It is not investment advice or a recommendation. APY is variable and not guaranteed.
